Our MissionMATH WITH EEES INC. is a non-profit organization that provides education and scholarship opportunities for Chicago and Chicagoland South Suburban area African-American students interested in pursuing a career within the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) field.
Our Vision To educate, enlighten, and empower the number of African-American students studying Science, Technology, Engineering and Math.

Deborah Birmingham, M.Ed., M.A.
President & CEO
With over 30 years of professional experience, student achievement has always been Deborah's number one priority. Her experience includes working as a teacher, student-teacher mentor, Local School Council (LSC) Teacher Representative and a Chicago Teachers Union Delegate. Deborah's educational experience has equipped her to work with grades K-12 primarily in the areas of financial literacy, business, and STEM and as a junior college Adjunct Professor. She has worked at a Level 1+ school, for the Chicago Public Schools.
Deborah has worked to increase students' exposure to the ever growing STEM demand in various capacities. Since a 2015 collaboration with the Chicago Arts Partnerships in Educations (CAPE), she has co-written and received grants for proposals focusing on science and energy. The Bar Tech Group also partnered with Deborah and sponsored her proposal for the Invisible Energy & Elements of Art.
In 2016, Deborah was selected to participate in the Duke Energy Academy at Purdue, an intensive one-week program focused on inspiring high school students and teachers in energy sciences and engineering.
Deborah’s volunteer work with her local school district and community is also a big part of her life. Representing taxpayers as a school board member from 2007 to 2017, she served two terms as President and Vice President of Brookwood School District 167. Her accomplishments in these positions include overseeing a $15 million budget, initiating a successful referendum for the new Brookwood Middle School, and establishing initiatives and community partnerships.
Deborah has voiced the urgency of education funding with local Congressional officials. As a lobbyist, she’s traveled to Capitol Hill as a member of the National School Board Association (NSBA) Federal Advocacy Institute advocating for adequate funding in STEM, financial literacy, special education, nutritious lunches, and other programs that academically prepare students.
As a community member, Deborah has volunteered with the Village of Glenwood Strategic Planning, Brookwood Point Homeowners Association and RAY of Illinois. In 2015, Deborah's passion for education and community service was recognized as a guest of Sigma Pi Phi Boule and the Executive Leadership Council London Celebrations in London, England. During her visit, she had the opportunity to share education and community aspirations with HRH Prince Edward, the Earl of Wessex. Deborah’s future endeavors are to increase the number of partnerships with local government, universities and corporations to broaden students’ STEM opportunities. Deborah also aspires to expound on previous travel in the U.K. and West Africa by establishing initiatives with the respective countries and providing opportunities for youth to travel abroad to explore the impact of STEM careers globally.
